School and Baby

I've been a slacker on my writing... again. I'm not giving up. I will get into the habit of writing more often, I've just got to write more often to do that... It's a conundrum.

It was basically my midterm last week in my classes. I had so much homework to do and little time to do it. I had a project due with a partner on Thursday morning. I finished my part Wednesday evening around 9:30 and tried to convert our PowerPoint presentation into a video. When I did this, my partner's embedded videos would play in full, but mine would only play the first five seconds. My husband and I looked into it for two hours! After lots of frustration and even some tears, I emailed my instructor and went to bed. The next day, I tried again from work and it finally converted properly. I have the exact same version of PowerPoint and operating system at home so I'm not sure what was up with that. Then I had to upload the video to YouTube, but when I did that, it only played the first five seconds and froze. I finally uploaded it to my DropBox and sent my professor both links in hopes the video would be accepted. My partner agreed to this method as she had less idea what we were doing than I did!

Next week is Spring Break. Hallelujah! I am completely done with one of my classes until March 18th. The other, I have to do minimal commenting on some posts which will be live until Sunday and then I'm done until Monday the 19th. I'm waiting on my classmates to post their discussions before I can comment and be done. So, I have minimal work for the next two days or so and then I'm done for at least a week. Yes!!!

My husband and I are taking a "babymoon" soon. If you don't know what this is, it's basically a trip while in your second trimester as a "last hurrah" before baby comes. We're going up north to Lake Geneva, Wisconsin to stay for a couple of nights. I cannot wait! We went to the same hotel we're staying in very shortly after we started dating and it was so romantic. We definitely need this.

Speaking of baby, he's doing so well. We had our anatomy scan on Tuesday. If you don't know what that is, it's a scan where they look over all of baby to ensure everything is growing properly. We looked at baby's bones in his arms and legs; his hands and feet; his heart, stomach, bladder, kidneys, and diaphragm; his brain; the umbilical cord. At one point, I had to get up and walk around to try to get the baby to move so the tech could get some more images. After walking for about five minutes, the only thing baby did was stretch his legs straight out in front of him to brace himself in my uterus. He was like, "Nope! I'm not moving anywhere. Don't even try!" Haha. Stubborn kid. Prior to that his legs were crossed and tucked under him with his little feet by his butt. Needless to say, the tech wasn't able to get all of the measurements and photos she needed of baby's heart so we'll have another scan when we're back there in about four weeks. I'm not complaining! I get to see my sweet little boy again!

Also, I'm pretty sure my bump is starting to pop now. I hadn't noticed a bump yet, but the past week or so I noticed my stomach felt a little harder and like it was rounding out more. We take a weekly bump shot every Thursday when I reach a new week of gestation. This morning, when my husband was taking my bump shot, he said, "Oh my gosh! I think you're finally showing."  What do you think? The left is from Week 18 which was February 15th and the second is from this morning at Week 21.

We're currently working on decorating what we have for the nursery, putting items on our registries, and planning our baby shower. His due date is in a little over four months and I am just so excited for him to get here. After losing the twins, I definitely want him to "cook" until he's full-term, but July cannot get here fast enough!

What did you have on your registry you thought was useless after baby came? What are your must-haves we should make sure are on our registries?
